A CrowdPouch initiative, in partnership with Artists for Wildlife and Nature.
Pandemic Times, the Online Art Contest, is open to all artists residing in India and will accept entries starting from the 1st of August ‘20, until the 25th of the month. The contest aspires to encourage artists and appreciate their art, allowing them to express themselves and unleash their talent. Entries will be accepted in two categories: 15-17 years and 18+ age groups respectively. Cash prizes totalling up to ₹ 50,000/ will be given to all winners, along with e-certificates for every single artist participating in the contest.
The Online Art Contest is open to all artists, novice and seasoned alike. The medium for the artwork is also unrestricted and left to the choice of the artists – thus ensuring the simple belief that art is simply the imagination of the artists. One is allowed to choose anything from simple carbon pencils to complex oil colours to work on the artwork. Paper or canvas, both are acceptable too.
To participate in the “Pandemic Times” contest, all one needs to do is visit the website and upload a high-resolution picture of his/her original artwork. An ID proof helps verify the age of the artist, as there are two categories based on the age criteria. Once the entry is submitted, the Jury will review the submissions and announce the winners online, in a month’s time.
Speaking of the contest, Vittal Ramakrishna, Founder & CEO, CrowdPouch says, “The past few months have been difficult for everybody, especially so for the artists. We’d like to put our best foot forward to nurture and appreciate the talent of artists across the country through “Pandemic Times”, in partnership with AWN.”
Prasad Natarajan, a noted Bangalore-based wildlife artist, and the Founder of Artists for Wildlife and Nature couldn’t agree more. He said, “Being a full-time artist myself, I truly understand the challenges faced by professional artists during these testing times. Giving back to society, at the same time supporting artists have been the core ideas of AWN and we are thrilled to collaborate with CrowdPouch who have similar intentions. Hope the artists put their best foot forward and make use of this opportunity which is presented to them through this initiative.”
Since the Online Art Contest is open to all residing in India, the Jury looks forward to a large number of submissions in the first 25 days of August. The unveiling of the Jury will happen along with the announcement of the winners in the two different categories. Post which, all winners will be awarded cash prizes totalling up to ₹ 50,000 and more.
