Travis Head says Kohli has an unbelievable bowling attack

Travis Head says Kohli has an unbelievable bowling attack

Head was a part of the Australian squad that lost the four-match Test series against India in 2018-19

 Sydney –

Ahead of the four-day practice-match between Australia A and India A, batsman Travis Head on Saturday said that Virat Kohli has an unbelievable bowling attack at his disposal.

Head will be leading Australia A in the practice match against India A, and he is looking to gain some much-needed time in the middle.

“They are a really important couple of games for us, not just as an Australia A squad but also an Australian squad and we want to start putting the Indian guys under pressure,” ESPNCricinfo quoted Head as saying.

Head was a part of the Australian squad that lost the four-match Test series against India in 2018-19. India had defeated the hosts 2-1 to gain their first-ever Test series win Down Under.

Travis Head says Kohli has an unbelievable bowling attack

“It’s the way they were able to back up and support each other, not dissimilar to how we are with our attack, you get through the new ball and someone like [Mohammed] Shami comes on and he’s just so relentless on his length. There was just no rest that, you had to be on for every bowler. That is expected of Test cricket but that was my first real look at a quality attack like that. Those next spells are as strong as their first so you have to be on 100 per cent of the time,” Head said.

“I think my game has developed a long way since then. You take confidence from everything you’ve done, you take experiences from every game you’ve played and every team you’ve come up against. Nice to have some memories from that series, but they are an unbelievable bowling attack and being well supported throughout,” he added.

Head has played 17 Tests for Australia, and he averages 41.96. The left-handed batsman recently recorded scores of 171 not and 151 in the four matches for South Australia in the Sheffield Shield.

Australia A will be led by Travis Head, and Test regulars Joe Burns and Tim Paine are a part of the squad. Australia’s senior team is led by Paine and the experienced campaigner will be looking to gain some game-time ahead of the four-match Test series against India.

The four-day practice game will be clashing with the second T20I between India and Australia. The Virat Kohli-led side may play some of their regulars in the practice match, and as a result, those players will miss out on the second T20I.

The practice match will be played at the Drummoyne Oval, Sydney. After this match, India will also get much-needed practice with the pink ball ahead of the first Test against Australia.

Canadian PM keeps commenting on farmers’ protest Despite India’s warning

Canadian PM keeps commenting on farmers’ protest Despite India’s warning

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over his earlier remarks on farmers’ protests

Canada (Ottawa) –

Despite India’s warning to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over his earlier remarks on farmers’ protests, the PM has once again commented that he “will always stand up for the right of peaceful protests”.

Speaking at a press conference after the External Affairs Ministry issued a demarche to Canadian High Commissioner, Trudeau said, “Canada will always stand up for the right of peaceful protests anywhere around the world.”

Meanwhile, the Sikh Council UK has demanded the political leaders to support the Canadian PM.

“Political leaders should stand alongside @JustinTrudeau to oppose human rights violations by the Indian authorities & not bow to bullying,” the Sikh Council UK said in a tweet.

Farmers are protesting in Delhi and its border areas against the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

On Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a demarche to Canadian High Commissioner, saying that the remarks made by the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, some Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament on Indian farmers’ protest will have “seriously damaging impact on ties between India and Canada“.

According to an official statement issued by the MEA, “The Canadian High Commissioner was summoned to the Ministry of External Affairs today and informed that comments by the Canadian Prime Minister, some Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament on issues relating to Indian farmers constitute an unacceptable interference in our internal affairs.”

Such actions, if continued, would have a seriously damaging impact on ties between India and Canada, the Ministry further said.

“These comments have encouraged gatherings of extremist activities in front of our High Commission and Consulates in Canada that raise issues of safety and security. We expect the Canadian Government to ensure the fullest security of Indian diplomatic personnel and its political leaders to refrain from pronouncements that legitimize extremist activism,” the statement added.

On December 1, India reacted sharply to the “ill-informed” comments by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on farmers’ protests in India and said the remarks are “unwarranted” especially when pertaining to internal affairs of a democratic country.

Union ministers meet PM Modi ahead of talks with farmers

Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal, and Narendra Singh Tomar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi

New Delhi [India]: Ahead of the fifth round of dialogue with agitating farmers on Saturday, Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal, and Narendra Singh Tomar met Prime Miniter Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi.

On his way to the Prime Minister’s residence, Union Agriculture Minister Tomar told the media that the meeting with farmers will start at 2.00 pm today, and added that he is hoping for a positive conclusion of talks. “A meeting is scheduled with farmers at 2.00 pm today. I am very hopeful that farmers will think positively and end their agitation,” said the Agriculture Minister.

Earlier today, farmer leader Rampal Jat, president of Kisan Mahapanchayat said that if today’s talks are not concluded on a positive note, farmers from Rajasthan will march along NH-8 towards Delhi and camp at Jantar Mantar.
“Government should announce to withdraw the three black laws and give in writing that minimum support price will continue. If any positive result doesn’t come out of today’s talks, farmers from Rajasthan will march along NH-8 towards Delhi and camp at Jantar Mantar, said Jat
The farmers’ agitation in Delhi entered the tenth day today, with a large number of farmers gathered in and around the national capital to protest against the three farm laws.

Meanwhile, a nationwide shutdown has been called by the protesting farmers on Tuesday (December 8).
On December 3, the farmers held the fourth round of talks with the Centre and said the government had talked of bringing some amendments to farm laws. In the fourth round of the meeting, farmer leaders suggested the government to hold a special session of the Parliament and sought the abolition of the three farm laws.

“The government will discuss points that emerged at the meeting on Friday and hopes that talks will move towards finality when the next round of discussions are held on Saturday,” Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar had said.

He reached out to protesting farmers over their demands, saying MSP will not be touched, the government was open to their suggestions for parity between mandis under APMC Act and that outside, for disputes under the new farm laws being adjudged in courts and for registration of traders.
Previously on December 1, during the first meeting with Centre after the agitation reached Delhi, the farmers had refused the tea invitation from the government stating that they are demanding their right from the government and not anything else.

The farmers are protesting against the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

Android users can share app soon

Android users can share app soon

Android’s ‘Nearby Share’ feature will soon let users share the app with nearby user

Washington [US]: After introducing its file transferring feature Nearby Share in August, for all devices running Android 6+ or a later build, tech giant Google on Friday announced that the novel addition will soon let users share apps listed on the Google Play Store.

According to Mashable, as was the case with regular files, the user does not need an internet or Wi-Fi connection to send an app to another Android device. The feature will be added via an update that will start rolling out in the coming weeks. “An upcoming update to Nearby Share will let you share apps from Google Play with the people around you with an Android phone, even if you don’t have a cell or Wi-Fi connection.,” the company said in a blog post.

As reported by Mashable, in order to share an app with another user, one has to open the Google Play Store app, go to ‘My Apps & Games’ menu by tapping on the hamburger menu in the top left corner, and select the ‘Share Apps’ option. From there, a user can pick the apps that one wants to share with someone.

As of now, the Google Play app does not have a ‘Share Apps’ option, and if a user opens the ‘My Apps & Games’ section while offline, it shows a ‘You’re offline’ error message, instead of the library of apps installed on the phones.
One of the best features to come out of the company’s mobile OS lately, ‘Nearby Share’ is quite easy to use as well. Google has planned to bring the ‘Nearby Sharing’ feature to Chromebooks as well.

However, it is unclear how long it will take for the feature to enable app sharing between an Android smartphone and a Chromebook, especially considering the fact that ‘Nearby Share’ was still a work in progress for Chrome OS months after it went live on smartphones.
