Suspected militants on Wednesday evening lobbed a grenade on government forces in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“Militants lobbed the grenade on a joint team of Police and CRPF in Kakapora. However, the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on road,” an unnamed police officer was quoted by a local news agency.
In the incident, twelve civilians received splinter injuries who were subsequently shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. All of them are said to be stable, as per the latest reports.
The injured in the Pulwama attack were identified as Raja Begum, Suhail Ahmed, both residents of Naman Kakapora, Shabir Dar, Mushtaq Ahmed, Bashir Dar, Habibullah Sheikh, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, Bashir Ahmed and Abrar Ahmed, all residents of Kakapora, Ghulam Mohiuddin of Laribal Kakapora, Adil Ahmed of Samboora Pampore and a non-local from Uttar Pradesh identified as Muhammad Aamir.
