Another gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Parigam village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

Reports reaching here said that joint teams of J&K Police, Indian Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Parigam village.

Soon after the searches were being conducted, the exchange of fire took place in the area between the trapped militants and government forces.

As per latest details available with Digpu News, the exchange of gunfire is going on. However, no reports of either killings or injuries are being received.

Meanwhile, local news reports quoting ‘local sources’ said that youth hit roads and pelted stones on the joint forces after a separate CASO was launched in Astan Mohalla area of Karimabad village in Pulwama.

However, officials feigned ignorance about the clashes, but confirmed that the area has been cordoned off after the input about the movement of militants in the village.

It is pertinent to mention here that four unidentified militants were killed and two SoG men were injured in an early morning gunfight which broke out between government forces and militants, who were travelling in a vehicle near Ban Toll Plaza of Nagrota area in Jammu district.

As per the official statement of Central Reserve Police Force, inputs about the movement of militants from the Samba sector towards Nagrota Toll Plaza were received by CRPF and J&K Police.

“They were trapped and eliminated. Total 11 AK-47 rifles have been recovered,” the statement added.
