India’s first paranormal helpline receives over 10 calls daily

The paranormal helpline number 9999518600 started by ‘The Paranormal Company’ provides free assistance for spreading awareness against blind faith, superstitions, black magic, witchcraft and overall paranormal awareness.

Quarantine life in the time of COVID-19 pandemic is giving a variety of experiences to people. But, for a 23-year-old girl living alone in a flat in Kandivali, Mumbai the experience is quite haunting. Locked down alone for more than a month, this college student claims to see ghosts often in her flat.

Feared and annoyed, she chose to call upon India’s first paranormal helpline number and shared her experience. The helpline number is brought up by Jay Alani, India’s well-known paranormal investigator. When he investigated her case, he found that those binge-watching horror movies, series and listening to podcasts back-to-back, led her to create a fictional character in her mind.

Receiving Calls On The Paranormal Helpline

Jay has been receiving over 8 to 10 calls daily on an average out of which 90% of the cases are similar to this one. The number of cases of blind faith and superstition is increasing rapidly in India. To spread awareness among people of India against the blind faith, superstition, black magic and mesmerism, Jay Alani launched this paranormal helpline number around two months ago and he has been receiving a number of calls daily.

He has been receiving various calls of people claiming to see a ghost, hearing some unusual noise, or feeling that someone is constantly watching them, during this quarantine period.

“In most of the cases, I have found that person who claims to experience any such unusual incident has been watching horror films and series during this lockdown period. After questioning them about their daily routine, family history, past trauma etc, I and my team of psychologists found out that many of them actually create a fictional ghost in their mind”, said Jay Alani who has been a full-time paranormal investigator for last many years and has investigated over 100 haunted locations and looked after over 150 paranormal cases.

A Paranormal Helpline In India, Yes You Read It Right

The paranormal helpline number 9999518600 belonging to ‘The Paranormal Company‘ provides free assistance to spread awareness against blind faith, superstitions, black magic, witchcraft and overall paranormal awareness to the following people:

  • People who claim to encounter a ghost or any other paranormal incident around them.
  • People who have doubts or curiosity to know about ghosts, spirits, black magic or anything related to the paranormal world
  • People who feel their house, villa or flats are haunted and are encountering unusual incidents

As per Jay Alani, “The main motive behind this helpline number is to provide scientific solutions to those who are encountering any unusual incidents or have any question about the paranormal world. We see that black magic and mesmerism are propagated and advertised openly in India. People usually fall in the trap of such Babas, Tantriks and Ojhas due to lack of knowledge.”

According to NCRB data, India has seen killings of 2290 persons, mostly women for practising witchcraft between the year 2001 and 2014. Jharkhand tops the chart of witch-hunting murders in India. 27 women in Jharkhand were lynched after being accused of witchcraft in the year 2016. Tribal- dominated states like Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana are the worst affected states.

Jay Alani – A Renowned Paranormal Investigator

Jay Alani is a renowned Indian full-time paranormal investigator. He has investigated over 100 haunted locations like Bhangarh fort, Kuldhara, Lambi Dehar Mines in Mussoorie, etc. Jay Alani’s podcast ‘Paranormal Reality’ streaming over popular platforms like Gaana, Spotify, iTunes, Wynk etc. has been heard over 12 Million times and counting. He has also created a two-season non-fiction horror web-series ‘Dark Destinations’ streaming on the OTT platform ‘Watcho’.

Jay Alani’s book ‘Haunted’ co-authored by Neil D’ Silva and published by Penguin India, talks about his real-life encounters with ghosts and spirits. Jay has also initiated a paranormal volunteer programme targeting over 1000 volunteers in India to spread awareness about the paranormal reality and the real truth behind the paranormal world to protect people from falling in the trap of black magic, witchcraft and such Babas, Tantrik and Ojha.

Kartik Nagarajan radiates intrapreneurial brilliance

Kartik is an accomplished top leader with multiple stints as Country head and MD for the last 5 years. He has been on multiple boards of MITSOT India, WPP India among others

Just because you come from a humble background, are not in the ivy league of academic background and start your career at the bottom doesn’t mean you’ll end your career in the same position. With a little bit of determination and perseverance, you can realise infinite possibilities in life and that’s what this pioneer exemplifies.

Having started his career from scratch, Kartik Nagarajan’s determination and perseverance eased his way to success. He did not join any highly riveted institutions then. Instead, he ended up pursuing graduation in Electronics and an MBA in India.

Destiny led Kartik to the US to pursue another MBA. While many Indians would contemplate on settling in the US but his love for India made him come back to start an all-new journey. His career journey is a tale of the extraordinary, starting with a Sales and Marketing stint and then switching to business development. However, his willingness to experiment and face fresh challenges would mean he could well lay hands-on things that were not opportune for success.

His first introduction in Sales was when he sold newspaper subscriptions door to door in South Delhi. Among his many other unforeseen visions, developing the concept of online booking of movie tickets in India in 2001, when neither the market nor any partners were ready, is one such idea which people understood much later.

Outsourcing boom soon caught his attention and he began weaving the journey by focusing on global client management in the outsourcing firm for the Fortune 500. He learnt the tricks of the trade by setting up large scale operations across the globe. Nothing deters the vision of a focussed individual and Kartik turned this saying into reality.

One of the greatest examples of this was his intrapreneurial stint with one of the Fortune 500, wherein he had to set up everything from scratch – funding the business externally, getting the service offering right, make a world-class team, the good business case for the team and employees to get excited about along with finally taking the idea to a new reality of revenue growth, customer excellence and innovation.

He is the one to shine amid sheer chaos. In various Fortune 500 organisations, Kartik led global operations to the path of innovation. while facing the ever-growing demands of their clients. Most of these accomplishments were the result of the organization-wide transformation, co-creating solution with the client  & manoeuvring through the crisis by shifting focus from what the company pays an employee to what an employee contributes to the company.

These accomplishments were possible only because of his ability to work through nuances & causing the change in the course of business rather than the incremental change. Coupled with his ability to always use technology as the major strategic business enabler, he kept climbing up the corporate ladder.

Today, Kartik is an accomplished top leader with multiple stints as Country head and MD for the last 5 years. He has been on multiple boards of MITSOT India, WPP India among others. He has also shared his thoughts on digital transformation on various forums such as NASSCOM, CII and Deloitte. A global citizen, in essence, Kartik says, “One of the truest values in a person is vulnerability. The acceptance of high-risk at various stages and a clear focus only on solutions have kept me going.” He genuinely believes that his honesty towards life and his willingness to embrace new choices, helps him derive exceptional performance from simple teams. Clearly, Kartik Nagarajan’s journey has been an eventful one but he feels

Communal Harmony: Muslims cremate Sikh man with honour in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: While setting another example of communal harmony, Muslims in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday went all out to help in the cremation of a Sikh carpenter, hailing from Punjab.

The non-local, identified as Rakesh Singh, from Punjab died at his rented accommodation in Wakura village of Ganderbal district in Kashmir.

As the locals found it difficult to send the body to the deceased’s native village amid the Coronavirus-induced lockdown, they decided to cremate his body as per Jatt rites.

The local Muslims in Kashmir lifted the bier and chanted religious hymns in Sikh funeral

As per COVID-19 norms, doctors examined the body before cremation while those who participated in his last rites wore proper protective gears.

Touched by the gesture of local Muslims, the slain Sikh’s brother said, “We have been working in Kashmir from the past decade. I am overwhelmed by the approach of locals. They are great human beings. People across India should learn the principles of humanity from people of Kashmir.”

The local people also consoled the grief-stricken brother of the deceased and assured to provide all possible help. The local Muslims lifted the bier and even chanted religious hymns during the funeral procession. It is pertinent to mention here that Kashmiri Muslims often participate in the last rites of people from religious minorities including those Pandits who decided to stay in the Vale, when their relatives decided to migrate to Jammu and other parts of the country in 1990 to get out of the harm’s way in the midst of a cataclysmic upheaval after armed militancy broke out in the Himalayan

Coronavirus – Engine for digital transformation in Kashmir

With a Coronavirus-induced strict lockdown in place, the valley of Kashmir is seemingly going through a digital transformation.

Although, the social and economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic are difficult to predict at this point in time, however, it is having a profound impact on social life and the economy.

Along with concerns about the health of the population, fears of a serious economic crisis are looming large in the air as well. Due to the stringent restrictions, the existence of some businesses is already endangered; others have been able to retool their approaches in developing a different culture of work.

Mohammad Shamim, from a suburb in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama employees at least 12 employees in his wood carving unit. Since the time lockdown was imposed, the factory is shut but the unit has been able to fulfil orders from its stockpile. “Most of our customers prefer to pay us through e-transfer after the growing cases of Coronavirus emerged in the Valley. They seldom go to banks now,” Shamim says.

Next to Shamim’s factory, Nazir Mir runs a grocer’s shop. He has been permitted by the district authorities to run the shop from morning till 4 PM. After most of his customers asked for his bank account details in order to pay him money online, he has hanged a little banner in his shop with the same details. He says, “It was much needed as most of my customers asked for my bank details to pay for the items they bought from here. Going to places like banks is least preferred these days.”

The story is same for various other sectors and institutions in the Valley who are increasingly taking use of the digital resources to keep their businesses and work afloat during the worst pandemic crises created by COVID-19.

From teachers and professors taking to video sharing platforms like YouTube, bureaucrats and government officials holding meetings via video conferencing to businesses taking advantage of online payment channels, grocery stores taking orders on WhatsApp and students looking for avenues to study online, more and more people in Kashmir are using internet to lead the Valley towards a digital revolution.

Although the complaints of low internet speed keep finding space in news headlines across various newspapers and online news portals, people have largely embraced the new way of working and studying from home. Online communication tools are playing an essential part to keep the collaboration running smoothly and unhindered.

The pandemic might end anytime soon, but most of the changes brought about by the virus-induced lockdown will stay forever. It is expected that there will be increased levels of meetings and conferences held online even after the coronavirus pandemic ends, businesses will keep exploring new channels of online transactions and even a revamp of online classes is in the offing as more companies will be looking to cater to the needs of educational institutions.

A clear trend can, however, be forecasted. On the one hand, the majority of businesses/firms face acute negative effects of the crisis. On the other hand, most people are convinced that the COVID-19 crisis will contribute to technological progress in the long term and that, all in all, the digital economy will emerge from the current situation even stronger than before – a prospect that gives cause for hope in the face all of the negative news we are hearing at this time.

Dr Meenaa Mahaajjan’s Spiritual Perspective On COVID-19

In conversation with Digpu, Dr Meenaa Mahaajjan talks about how the world of today should have a spiritual perspective and decode the message of the planet.

Dr Meenaa Mahaajjan is a revered spiritual guide, speaker and a well-known social activist. The views not only reflect her spiritual incline but also speaks about some possible solution form a spiritual point of view.

Meenaa believes that humanity might need a deeper understanding of the coming times. Today’s time reminds me of Lord’s words, once spoken to Arjuna “Yada yada hi dharmasye glaanir bhavti bharateh, abhyuthaanam adharmasye tadatmaanam srijamayham”.

The lord says, “Whenever and wherever there has been a threat posed to righteousness in this world or universe, I have appeared to quell it.”

Meenaa further goes on to say that these tough times bring in her, a strange excitement, excitement to see HIM once again, an excitement to witness HIS quelling what is harming the righteousness. But it’s not that easy, unlike the times of Mahabharta, where those who posed a threat to the righteous thoughts, in other words, Dharma, stood on one side and those who were fighting to keep it, on the other.

Social News Digpu - Dr Meenaa Mahaajjan's Spiritual Perspective On COVID-19

In these times, we do not know who is on the other side, but, if one observes closely, one could see HIM set things right and when one starts to see ‘what’ is being set right, one also gets to ‘know’ who and what poses a threat to the righteousness of today’s time.

To enable all of us to see and notice this, let us understand the word Dharma. It definitely does not mean religion, and it definitely is not pointing towards a sect or race. Dharma is what is right, what is obvious, what has always remained, even when nothing remains!

Also Read: Dr Meenaa Mahaajjan Talks About Learning To Coexist And Inclusion In Nature

The truest meaning of Dharma is what is meant to be possessed, something on which every living being on this earth has a right upon and that is to remain happy. Where no one uses the other to gain happiness but co-exists to find happiness… where everyone lives in a personal domain and does not trespass into another’s periphery in other words, where everyone knows ones Maryada and respects the Maryada of the other too. In the battle of Mahabharta, the Lord had declared that although HE will rule the happenings and the result of this great war, HE will not raise even HIS finger to influence the win, leave alone HIS mighty weapons!

About the realisation of faith in real life, Meenaa Mahaajjan says, “Yes, I can see HIM… O Lord, I can see you. I can see you restoring the damage inflicted on Earth’s nature, I can see you define its domain, its periphery. I can see you show the humans their domain, their Maryada, their periphery and YOU are doing this in the politest manner possible. Those who will understand your doings will remain, those who will bow unto you will remain, those who promise You to adhere will remain. O LORD, how I wish to see you in form, as I know that YOU are around, YOU are here in this world that I live, YOU are so near to me that I can smell your fragrance, which is so similar to the fragrance of fresh air, freshwater, fresh ether. “

She further says that the Lord has come down to teach us Dharma once again. Those who wish to know when all this will end must know that this war will end only when we bow down to promise HIM, that we have received the message loud and clear, that we will keep HIS property, HIS world with the utmost care and respect the domain of each living being on this EARTH.

Always remember, we have come on this EARTH of HIS to learn this Dharma, because only then will we know the nuances of living in the world where HE Lives, our Final Abode.

PM Modi’s “Aatma Nirbhar” Relief Package: A Call for Promotion of Local Indian Brands?

Prime Minister‘s “Aatma Nirbhar” Relief Package amidst Covid-19 crisis calls for a spike in the demand for advertising of Indian brands

LD Sharma, Managing Director Mayhigh Films gives his valuable insights on the implications of the recently announced stimulus package on MSMEs, buying local and the need to advertise to create brand visibility in support of “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” and  Make in India Abhiyan.

Prime Minister Modi’s big announcement of Rs. 20 lakh crore stimulus relief package, equivalent to 10% of India’s GDP; will help to deal with the economic crisis due to Covid-19. He believes this booster shot will play an important role in the ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’, which would make India self-reliant and face the post-COVID-19 repercussions. This move is a push for Indian local brands to advertise and make their products visible at a national level, to begin with, and eventually position themselves to face global competition.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman detailed out PM Modi’s relief package and announced s Rs. 3 lakh crore collateral-free loans for businesses and infuse capital of Rs 50,000 cr in the MSMEs in an effort to help them expand. This will be a step towards the Self-Reliant campaign and support Make in India.

“The roll-out of collateral-free loans will inject much-needed liquidity in the unorganised retail sector, leading to business expansion & local brand promotion through digital or TV Advertising,” says LD Sharma, Managing Director, Mayhigh Films

“It’s an opportune time for thousands of local brands to showcase their products and services and urge their countrymen to buy locally. As a result, it calls for an immediate need for advertising and branding to attract the attention of local buyers,” he adds.

Finance Minister Sitaraman also points out that Indian brands have faced tough competition from their foreign counterparts. To tackle this, she announced global tenders in government procurement up to Rs. 200 crores will be disallowed. An excellent opportunity to encourage local brands so they can reinvent themselves at par with the global standards. This will also lead to a reduction in imports of goods and services from foreign lands, thereby, stimulating the use of homegrown brands.

In view of the above, advertising and branding will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the seller and the buyer. Sharma with 17 years of experience in the Media industry says” the need for branding should be at its peak especially for the SMEs who have ignored the power of advertising due to lack of awareness. It is time they reach out to their audience on a large scale, owing to the fact that there will be lesser disruption from global brands.”

He goes on to explain that in these times when instant brand visibility is the need of the hour, Television is arguably the biggest ad vehicle mainly attributed to its unscalable reach and undivided viewer attention that makes for incredibly effective marketing. “Struggling MSMEs that consider TV advertising expensive can run non-FCT on regional news channels and can get a good ROI. News channels these days are on boom & with limited budget they provide the option of B2B & B2C marketing .To tap the national market, they can opt for the top 10 news channels and get effective returns. A non-FCT campaign does not require a TVC which takes up most of the advertising budget.” says Sharma

With the proliferation of digital media, Customers spend a lot of time online, so marketing efforts must be directed to draw them on these platforms. Digital branding has the power of effective marketing, helps businesses’ increase their reach, and leads to a constant generation of leads. A few strategies that can be adopted
